The Project Architect plays a key role in supporting MHTN’s core values (Design, Social & Environmental Responsibility, Teamwork, Technical Excellence, Empowerment, Respect, and Service) as they guide projects through all phases of the design process. Design teams work collaboratively to ensure exceptional quality and service to clients during schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and into construction administration. A Project Architect will have a well-rounded career as we value holistic design practices at all stages of a project’s life cycle. They will participate in charrettes with stakeholders, parti’s and pin-ups with team members, and help to tell design stories that will continuously inform new project design innovations.

The Project Architect is crucial in promoting socially and environmentally responsible design practices through respectful and informed discussions with clients. They will be expected to make informed decisions in evaluation, selection, and use of standard architectural techniques and problem solving while working within budget and schedule to meet project scope. They organize project and document production in collaboration with the Project Manager and will provide guidance on building and accessibility codes and regulatory standards. A firm understanding of engineering systems, equipment, technology requirements and detailing, and how they relate to construction is essential.  We require an architect with a valid license for this role.

The Project Architect engages in professional development efforts through mentoring and participation in MHTN paid continuing education opportunities. We believe mentoring is a two-way street! As a Project Architect, you will have the opportunity to follow your passions and collaborate with enthusiastic team members with a variety of expertise.

Here is a list of the key skills and requirements which we seek for this role:
  • A valid architecture license
  • Design aptitude and the ability to convey ideas in a clear and concise manner
  • Creative and forward thinking
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication
  • Well organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong proficiency in Revit
  • Proficiency in Blue Beam, Sketch Up, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office
  • Ability and willingness to collaborate remotely as needed – including phone and video conferencing

We offer a salary that is competitive with the market and commensurate with your experience. This position is a salary, overtime exempt position.
